Every year when I was growing up, "The Wizard of Oz" would show on television - maybe once. We didn't have DVDs back then, or even VCR tapes, so when it came on, it was an event not to be missed. As I grew older, the song came to have more meaning to me: it was all about longing to be somewhere else, someone else, in a better life...

kitty floss cards - oh so cute!

Ran across this idea for floss cards somewhere online a few days ago and decided to make my own version, using Photoshop to design the features, and my Silhouette to cut the chipboard backings as well as the glossy paper faces. They're the perfect size for storing my baker's twine!

My dear friend Terri graciously sent me all the diecut parts to create a "putz house" - I had no idea how I wanted to decorate it, but then I decided to make it look as much as possible like the house in which I grew up. So I watercolored the sides, door & doorstep, and painted our house number on the door. The two cats in the yard are Velvet (tuxedo cat) and Taffy (ginger tabby).
